The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari is being expected in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, tomorrow in continuation of his campaign ahead of March 28 presidential election.
As a result, all activities relating to the door-to-door campaign of the State APC governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside for Thursday, have been put on hold.
It would be recalled that the APC presidential campaign was suspended following the postponement of the general elections earlier scheduled for February 14 and 28.
The presidential and National Assembly elections will now hold on March 28, while governorship and State Assembly elections come up on April 11.
The Tide recalls that the APC presidential flag-bearer flagged off his campaign in Port Harcourt in January and had since then toured 34 other states, apart from Yobe before the election was postponed on February 7.
Information reaching The Tide indicates that Buhari is coming to Port Harcourt for the second time to reactivate his campaign in the South-South zone after a two-week working visit to London in United Kingdom, where he delivered a lecture at the prestigious Chatham House on the future of democratic transition in Africa with particular focus on Nigeria.
After Thursday’s visit to Port Harcourt, which is the headquarters of the South-South zone, sources say, the APC presidential campaign train will move to other geo-political zones in the country.
