Boost Security, Be Fair To All, Amaechi Urges New CTCs

Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF), Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has charged the newly sworn-in 21 CTC chairmen to provide support to security agencies in their domains and treat all parties equally in the course of their administration.
In a brief charge shortly after the new CTC chairmen were administered oath of office on Monday in Government House in Port Harcourt, Amaechi said they should be prepared to boost security in their areas.
The CTC chairmen include – Udi Udom of Abua/Odual, Chief Kassidy Ikegbidi for Ahoada-East, Esuku N. Esuku for Andoni, Orji Ngofa for Eleme, Nweke Felix for Oyigbo, Ojukaye Flagg-Amachree for Asari-Toru and Loveday M. Jaja for Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.
Others include, Mina Tende for Ogu/Bolo, Kadilo Kabari for Gokana, Worlu Gift for Obio/Akpor, Felix Amadi for Ikwerre, Nnamdi Wuche for Phalga, Fenibo Jack for Akuku-Toru, Agabi Blessing for Ahoada-West and Charles Anyanwu for Etche Local Government Area.
Akaba Nemaa Aleelo for Tai, Nnamdi Abah for Emohua, Barrister Kelechi Ubani for Omuma, Mene Derek for Khana and Chief Mangi Sunday for Okrika are also chairmen of the new CTCs.
This is the third set of CTC chairmen sworn-in by Governor Amaechi since last year.
Among the chairmen, five former council chairmen were appointed, while former CTC chairmen were re-appointed.
He also called on security operatives to assist the government and the various councils to tackle the increasing crime rate in the state.
According to him, “I want you all to attach seriousness to your primary assignment. It is my hope that the police and other security operatives will help you in arresting the criminals who are gradually increasing crime in the state. If you look around the state, you will notice the presence of troops and they are moving to every nook and cranny to chase out those hoodlums called criminals. Please, ensure that law abiding citizens are not molested or harassed by anybody”, Amaechi said.
The governor equally charged the council chairmen to start making preparations ahead of the local government council elections.
“You are charted also to start making preparations ahead of the local government council elections. You are expected to be fair to all. Don’t be partial, and encourage active participation in politics”, Amaechi said.
He also tasked the council chairmen to be fair to all, most especially in the discharge of their duties saying, don’t be partial in your assignment”.
