The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr Tele Ikuru has dismissed rumours making the rounds that there exist serious leadership differences and disagreement between him and the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Davies Ibiama Ikanya in Andoni Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement in Port Harcourt, the deputy governor noted  attempt by some individuals to draw his name into series of issues he knows nothing about.
The statement, signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Godswill Jumbo, said, recently, different individuals have tried in vain to misinform the public that there exists some dispute between him and his party chairman in the state and such has played out in disagreement between their supporters.
It drew the public attention to the fact that Engr. Tele Ikuru, is not just the Deputy Governor of Andoni Local Government Area but of the entire Rivers State and her people, and as such deserves the respect and honour due him.
As at now, he remains the political leader of the Andoni people, and has conducted himself with the maturity and leadership traits that such high calling demands of him.
He has no issues to dispute over with his State party Chairman or anyone else. Those peddling such inane rumours should henceforth desist from such.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is more than ever before united, focused and determined to contest all electoral positions it is vying for. It is therefore untrue, baseless and unfounded for anyone to insinuate that the party is embroiled in crisis, be it at the state or local government areas.
It added that such unfounded rumours are the handiwork of desperate politicians who are finding it difficult to sustain their evil grip on the ever unraveling political space in the state and are therefore looking for any straw to hang on to.
The statement noted that Ikuru is committed and working assiduously with relevant stakeholders for the actualization of the vision and goal of his party, the APC, to win the 2015 elections”.
It urged everyone not to be distracted from the goal but focus on achieving this onerous objective, and called on all Nigerians to go and collect their permanent voters’ cards at INEC centres and be ready to vote the APC in the forthcoming elections.
