Andoni Youths Declare Support For Peterside

Thousands of youths from
Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have embarked on a solidarity march at the council headquarters in Ngo in support of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adol Dakuku Peterside as the next governor of Rivers State.
Addressing the youths who converged at the local government council at Ngo, the Deputy Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Andoni Chapter, Mr. Wilson Ibim, described the decision by the youth as a welcome development, saying the emergence of Dr. Peterside will bring progress and development to Andoni.
Mr. Ibim said that Dakuku’s government would free Andoni from a cabal which has held the people of the area hostage for years without anything to show for it.
The youth leader also used the occasion to debunk the insinuation that Peterside hates Andoni, stressing that available evidence has shown that the APC gubernatorial candidate has carried out numerous development projects in the area.
He listed some of the projects to include, the sandfilling of Egbormung community, the construction of a landing jetty at Oronija, a bridge at Unyeada and the numerous overseas scholarships to Andoni sons and daughters.
The youth leader also described as false allegation that Peterside change the name of Andoni/Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency.
He said that the allegations against Dr. Peterside were cooked up by enemies of progress in the area and urged the people to discountenance it.
Mr. Ibim however advised Andoni youths to toe the path of peace by refraining from being involved in acts of violence.
The warned against being used to forment trouble, trouble, stressing that the era of thuggery and other acts of violence is gone for good.
