Anambra Set To Review Out-dated laws
The Attorney Gen
eral and Commissioner for Justice in Anambra, Mr Chude Anali, says the ministry has commenced plans to review and update all out-dated laws of the state.
Anali disclosed this in Awka while outlining the achievements of the ministry in one year of the Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration.
The commissioner told newsmen that laws in the state were last reviewed in 1991.
He said that the ministry had drafted eight Memoranda of Understanding and had prepared 20 agreements and 11 bills geared towards the realisation of the vision of the governor.
The attorney-general lauded the governor for approving the training of some law officers in specialised legal areas at the Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in Lagos.
According to him, the gesture will ensure continuous legal training for lawyers.
He, however, appealed to the governor to equip the law libraries with books as well as provide amenities and furniture in the ministry’s out-stations.
