Amokachi Promises Eagles Chance For Domestic League Players
The Super Eagles Assistant
Coach, Daniel Amokachi, has promised that more players in the domestic league would get national call-ups judging from their good performances.
Amokachi made the promise in Nnewi Anambra State, where he watched the Glo Premier League Match Day One fixture between hosts Gabros International FC and Warri Wolves, which the hosts won 2-0.
He told newsmen that he noticed six players from the game and a few others as well from the other matches in the league.
The former Super Eagles forward said his major task presently was that of spotting and harnessing the talents of domestic league players.
He said the idea behind this was for the players to complement the country’s multitude of foreign-based players.
“In terms of talents, Nigeria is blessed. No other country in Africa has the number of talents we have here and as I was sitting and watching the Gabros/Wolves match,I penciled down six players.
“I also spotted some others on television, from the other league matches I watched, and these are players I do not know”.
