Former Nigeria

There was no cohesion in the Super Eagles as they fell 1-0 coutesy of Faruku Miya’s strike on Wednesday in Uyo.
“Uganda were well organized, they had a game plan and they won even though they were not as talented as we are. We played like street boys,” lashed out Akpoborie.
The TV pundit restated his belief that Nigeria desperately need a foreign coach at full international level if they were to be successful again.
Another former international, Emeka Ezeugo, described as shameful the loss to Uganda.
“It was shameful to lose to a team like Uganda at our own home,” he lamented. “Such a thing would not have happened during our time.”
However, former Nigeria U17 and U20 coach John Obuh defended the Eagles showing against Uganda by arguing that players did not have enough time to train together.
