Women groups across
five local government areas in Anambra State have  pledged their total support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2015 elections.
The groups in Ogbaru, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Idemili North and Idemili South, gave their endorsement in response to the call by the wife of Gov. Willy Obiano, Ebelechukwu, for their support.
Obiano made the appeal during a tour of the 21 local government areas of the state to galvanise women support for APGA candidates.
She said  APGA government believed and operated true to its philosophy of “onye aghana nwanneya’’, (be your brother’s and sister’s keeper)
“The development initiatives of the APGA led government cuts cross all communities irrespective of political leanings.
“We do not discriminate because the government is committed to the welfare of the people of Anambra. This is why the governor has continued from where his predecessor stopped, in the spirit of continuity by spreading projects to all communities barely one year in office”, she said.
She explained that she embarked on the tour to urge women to ensure that all APGA candidates for State and National Assemblies were elected.
Obiano said her husband had renovated primary schools, constructed roads, health centres and massive improvements in security of lives and properties in local government areas.
She stressed the need for eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to enable them to vote during the elections.
Chairman of Ogbaru LGA, Chief Victor Agolue, assured Obiano of the needed support.
Chief Ifeanyi Ibezi, APGA’s candidate for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency on behalf of other party flag bearers, thanked the governor’s wife for her dedication and support.
