Wamakko To Renovate Central Market

Following the recent
fire incident that gulted the Sokoto Central Market, the state governor, Aliyu Wamakko has said that the state government would renovate burnt section of the market.
The state governor, who disclosed this to journalists during a visit to the market, also sympathized with the victims of the fire incidents where many goods and property worth several millions of naira were lost.
Wamakko also urged the victims of the inferno to regard the incident as an act of God, and have faith in God who is able to replenish all that have been lost.
“This incident should be regarded a trial from God and nobody could have prevented it at the time it occurred,” he stated.
Wamakko also said that the state government would provide financial assistance to the victims of the incident, so as to alleviate their sufferings, even at this time of economic hardship when the nation is facing  dwindling revenue generation.
In his response, an official of the trader’s association, Kofar Gawo section, Alhaji Kabiru Dodo commended the state governor for the visit to encourage the traders.
It would be recalled that at least, 11 shops were destroyed at the area J of the Sokoto Central market by fire last Tuesday night, which took the prompt intervention of    fire fighters to put out.
