Shore Protection, Security My Priority In Riverine Areas – Peterside

date of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr Dakuku A. Peterside says, issues of shore protection and insecurity in riverine communities, including Akuku-Toru would be his administration’s top priority if voted as governor of the state in the February 28 election.
Dr Peterside made the promise last Saturday at the APC governorship  rally in Abonnema, the headquarters of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Dr Peterside said, “As a Riverine man, who has full knowledge of the environmental challenges facing the coastal communities in the state, my administration would ensure policy that will address issues of shore protection and insecurity in all riverine communities in the state.
The APC gubernatorial candidate also promised to address the issue of youth restiveness in the state by providing employment opportunities for the youths.
Dr Peterside, who was well received by the people of Akuku-Tom, advised the people to beware of selfish politicians who are out to recruit children of poor people into thuggery and militancy for their own selfish gains.
He called on the people in the area to vote APC in all the elections, saying it is only party that has respect for  God and humanity.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Akuku-Toru, former Local Government Chairman, and a serving Commissioner in the Local Government Civil Service Commission, Hon Awuyi Esuku, assured the APC gubernatorial candidate  of bloc votes of his people in  all the elections this month.
