Rita Dominic Emerges Silver Bird Personality Of The Week

Waturuocha is a Nollywood actress. She is a winner in the category of Best Actress in a leading role African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA 2012).
She belongs to the royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise region. The youngest child, she grew up in the family of health workers.
Her mother worked as a nurse and father was a doctor.
Rita studied at the elitist Federal Government College in Nigeria prior to entering the University of Port Harcourt. In 1999, she completed her studies and bagged with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts.
From childhood, Rita knew, what she wanted to dedicate life to. Before becoming a famous actress, Rita played prominent roles at school.
Also, she gained experience during children’s television shows in Imo State. In 1998, Rita made her debut in the movie titled; “A Time To Kill”.
Dominic considered to be the most outstanding actress by the City People Awards, 2004 has tried her hand in more than 100 Nollywood films.
Her latest accolade is emerging the Best Actress in GIAMA 2014, for her performance in Frank Rajah’s upcoming epic tale; ‘Iyore’. The third edition of the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards was held in Houston Texas on October 25,2014.
‘Iyore’ means “The Return: A Life After Life”. It is based on the history and the culture of the people of Benin, Nigeria. It explores a tragic love story centered on the rich culture of pre-colonial Benin through to the present day of Benin while exploring the supernatural ideas of reincarnation. It was shot in Nigeria, and stars Rita Dominic, Joseph Benjamin, Okawa Shaznay, Paul Obasele, Yemi Blaq and Bukky Wright among others.
Rita Dominic emerged the Silverbird Personality of the week due to her contributions in the growth of the Nigerian movie industry.
