Power Outage Hits PH As TCN Repairs Transformers

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) has announced planned outage to enable the company to improve its network in the state.
A statement signed by the PHED Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr Jonah Iboma, on Wednesday and made available to The Tide, said the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be rehabilitating its 45MVA Power Transformer located at Nzimiro by Ogbunabali Junction, Port Harcourt from February 14th to March 2nd 2015.
Iboma said the rehabilitation work by TCN will affect customers at Government House, Forces Avenue, William Jombo, Marine Base, Bundu Waterside, Nigeria Ports Authority, Aggrey Road, Sand Filled, Captain Amangala, UBE, and the entire Borokiri area.
According to him, other areas include Diobu, Mile 1, Mile 3, UST, some parts of Rumuolumeni and Ada George.
He also said there will be load shedding arising from the maintenance work.
“The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company therefore appeals to the affected customers within the areas mentioned to exercise patience and understanding while the rehabilitation work lasts as it is aimed at improving service delivery to the people.”
