Police Arraign Two For Misappropriation
The police on Friday ar
raigned two middle-aged men, Uche Ibezem, 24, and Solomon Ezeile, 32, at a Kado Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja charged with misappropriation.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Simon Ibrahim, told the court that the matter was lodged by one Engr. Gladys Ihuoma of Cherry Plaza, Utako, Abuja at Utako Police Station, Abuja, on January 20.
Ibrahim said Ihuoma employed the accused persons in February 2013 as office assistants in her shop where she sells computers and computer accessories.
He said the complainant discovered that some items were missing after taking stock for the period between February 2013 and December 2014.
The prosecutor listed some of the missing items to include power cables, laptop fuse, desktops, disk cables, flash drive, Hp ink, scan jet, blank recorder and headset, all valued at N621,000.
Ibrahim told the court that police recovered a laptop panel from the accused persons who then allegedly confessed to the crime.
However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum.
Sadiq adjourned the case to February 12 for further hearing.
