The Nigeria Nation-Wide League (NNWL) has shifted the date for the commencement of the 2014/2015 league season from March 5 to March 19.
This is contained in a communiqué of the league’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the weekend in Abuja.
It was jointly signed by the meeting’s Communique Drafting Committee chairman, Mojeed Adegbndin, and Secretary, Ediri Oruma, which also has three other members.
The league season was earlier scheduled to begin on March 5.
The communiqué also said the NNWL congress also extended the deadline for the registration of clubs in the league to March 6 instead of the earlier Jan. 30 deadline as stated earlier.
“The league will begin on March 19 with the Division One, while the Division Two will begin on April 2 and Division Three in May. The zonal playoffs will also hold in May,’’ it added.
According to the communiqué, the congress has approved the partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on the coverage of NNWL activities.
“The congress has approved the partnership with NTA and FRCN on the coverage of NNWL activities,’’ it said.
The league’s congress also agreed that “a committee be set up to find a suitable name for the league, since the NNWL name could not scale through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)’’.
It also decided that clubs must insure their players and officials with any insurance company of their choice, as long as the company conforms to FIFA standard.
