The governorship candidate of the party, Mr Charles Ibe, made the promise yesterday at ‘Democracy Arena’, organised by the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Enugu.

He noted that his administration would have zero tolerance for corruption in the state, if elected.
“This is the first election for our party and we intend to power an administration that is transparent, sincere and honest, if elected because we do not believe in democracy of the few, by the few and for the few.
“We will launch a green revolution to encourage improved mechanised farming in the state.
“ We will empower a think-tank to find out how agriculture can deliver revenue and employment to our people.
“We will provide an environment which will encourage small businesses to thrive and increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state’’, he further promised.
The candidate, who said civil servants in the state were the least paid in the country, assured of salary increment for civil servants to match their counterparts in other states of the South East.
Ibe said the state, under his watch, would work toward granting the judiciary financial independence to enable it perform adequately.
