A certified International
Tennis Registry (ITR) Coach, Abel Ubeibi has advised school authorities to educate youths on all sports to enable them have wide knowledge before making their career choices.
Ubeibi told newsmen in an  interview that such knowledge should be made compulsory for youths.
He said that the training would impact poitively on the youths and go a long way to attracting them to particular sports where they could build their careers.
Ubeibi said that most youths did not have sufficient knowledge of most sports, stressing that they often had wrong notions about career development.
“Our sports transformation in this country must begin from schools where the youths will be enlightened adequately on all sports.
“A situation where only few sports are exposed to the youths while others are left out is not the best in terms of development of sport and  the  youth.
“This is because we lack facilities and this can limit all round sports transformation in the country.
“We need to educate the youth  well on all sports; many of them will be talented in some of the sports we consider lesser,” he said.
The tennis instructor said that many pupils were either not well educated about sports like  Badminton and Squash and that they had misconceptions about such sports.
“These sports for instance, should be introduced to school children at their early stage where they can learn the basic skills.”
