UBE Board Member Harps On Violence – Free Elections

ers State Universal Basic Education (RSUBE), Lucky Worluh has charged the people of Rundele Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State to be part of the campaign for violence-free election in 2015 general elections in Nigeria.
Worluh made the call at Ndele at a sensitisation programme organised by Rundele Peoples Assembly (R.P.A) in support of violence-free elections in the area.
He reminded politicians, youths and organisation that the essence of politics is development and that parties will come and go but that the people would remain as one people, stressing that they should play politics without bitterness for the peaceful development of Ndele.
The RSUBE boss commended RPA for organising such programme and enjoined Chiefs, politicians, NGOs and other groups in Rundele to approach the forthcoming election  with open minds and as one people.
Worluh also urged other communities in the state to emulate the gesture of Rundele Peoples Assembly by embracing violence-free election.
He particularly commended the Federal Ministry of Education for expanding social strides to such a level that the pupils and students would be taught political education as, according to him, it would enable the children to have enough exposure about their civic rights. He stressed the need for politicians to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and approach the game without rancor and acrimony.
The UBE boss expressed regret that most of the political actors in the area were not present at the event and urged those who attended to spread the gospel of politics without bitterness to chiefs politicians, friends.
In his address at the event, Dr Goddey Wilson, a senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education said, Rundele as a community is sharing boundaries with other communities through which political violence could come in and advised people of Ndele to shun any such move.
