‘Rivers PDP Has No Gubernatorial Candidate’
A founding member of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe has said that he does not believe the PDP has any governorship flag bearer in Rivers State.
Sara-Igbe who stated this recently in Port Harcourt, explained that the primaries that produced the former Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesome Wike was null and void.
According to him, the aggrieved members of the party in the state were already at an Abuja High Court to address issues bordering on the PDP guideline and constitution.
The PDP chieftain stated that before the primary delegate election could be carried out, there should be registration of old and new members, alleging that the state executive of the party was operating without the registration of members.
Chief Sara-Igbe accused the Felix Obuah-led PDP executive of replacing the party with the Grassroot Democratic Movement (GDI).
“You are aware that the PDP was set aside and GDI was fronted; so the GDI took the place of PDP and if you are not a member of GDI, it is like you are not a member of PDP” he said.
