Rivers Angels Football
Club of Port Harcourt is expected to resume training this weekend, ahead of the 2015 Nigeria women Professional Football League Season.
Assistant coach of the team, Whyte Ogbondah, said this in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team would commence training sessions for the new year this weekend in order to prepare adequately before the kick-off of the league. This, he says, would help to enhance their performance.
He, however, said that recruitment of new players for the season would begin as soon as the team settles fully from the holidays.
“The players are returning from the Christmas and new year holidays gradually, all being equal, we  would commence preparations for the new season,’ he said.
The coach further said that the team would continue its good works to retain the titles won after emerging champions of the league and 2014 Women Federation trophy.
Coach Ogbondah, urged them not to relent in their commitment and good performance, saying that they (players) should maintain their standard as to achieve set targets this season.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Women Football League board has announced February 28th, this year as the resumption date for the new league season.
