Rivers Angels Pledge To Retire Federation Cup Trophy
Assistant Coach of Riv
ers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt, Whyte Ogbonda has promised fans of the team and Rivers people that the team would win the 2015 Women Federation Cup for keeps this season.
Coach Whyte, who made the promise in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt last week, said that the team has won the title four times in history but that the 2015 edition if won would be for keeps.
According to him, the team has won the trophy for keeps once and will strive to retire the current trophy this year.
Meanwhile, the team is expecting to receive the balance of their entitlements, sign-on fees, salaries, match bonuses and allowances owed them last season this month.
“We have been promised that our remaining monies for last season would be paid at the end of this month”, he said.
The coach also said that the team has been working hard to ensure that they do their possible best in sustaining their good run by defending their titles this season, adding that, the team still has great opportunities to do well this season and beyond.
It would be recalled that the Angels won the double last season, the 2014 Women Federation Cup and the Nigeria women’s professional football league title.
