Petrol: Transport Manager Hails FG’s Pump Price Reduction
The Manager, Niger
Delta Link Transport Services, Mr Ngoji Williams, has described the reduction of the petrol pump price from N97.00 to N87.00 per litre by the Federal Government as a welcome development and a relief to motorists in the country.
Williams who made this assertion in an interview with The Tide correspondent in Port Harcourt Monday, said the reduction was long expected since Nigeria produces crude oil.
According to him, “If oil should cost much in other countries, it should not be so here. The N10.00 reduction is something and let Nigerians also benefit for now”.
He said with the reduction, drivers are now happy as they could save some money for the motorists and commended the president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, for the bold step taken to ameliorate the sufferings of the motoring public.
The manager further noted that although the reduction would not affect the cost of road transportation in the country but, it is a step in the right direction.
On his fleet of vehicles plying Port Harcourt to Bori in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Williams said they charge the cheapest transport fare, and are not ready to reduce their fares due to the drop in the cost of fuel in the country.
