The Rivers State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Sampson Parker has described the recent attack on the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okrika Local Government Area as a test of faith for members of the party.
Addressing a crowd of APC members and supporters at the scene of the explosion during a visit to the APC secretariat at Abam-Ama, Okrika, Parker called on the APC members to see the incident as a challenge and work harder to deliver the party in the forthcoming elections.
Parker also urged members of the APC in Okrika to remain steadfast and resolute, without considering revenge as an option in the interest of peace.
The commissioner advised the APC members not to suspect or lay accusing finger on any group or individual but take solace in the fact that they are working for the best interest of the local government and Rivers State in general.
Speaking with newsmen during the visit, Chairman of the APC in Okrika, Christian Asifamaka thanked the commissioner for the solidarity, and assured that the challenge will spur members of the party to work harder to deliver APC in the forthcoming elections.
The chairman pointed out that the APC, as a symbol of change and development, would not allow itself to be dragged into violence and other actions capable of disrupting the peace of the area.
It could be recalled that APC Secretariat in Okrika Local Government was bombed by unknown men at the wee hours of last Sunday.
