Association Calls For Return Of Toll-Gates

Leadership of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has called for the return of toll-gates across the country to assist government generate more revenue for maintenance of existing roads.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the RTEAN President, Comrade Musa Shehu Isewele, said the association’s members are very much prepared for the return of the toll-gates where they would be ready to pay tolls.
Isewele said such revenue generated would help to maintain the existing roads to reduce the wear and tear of their vehicles following poor conditions of the roads.
He said the government should ensure that reasonable people are put in trust of the funds to be realised from the return of the toll gates.
The RTEAN President also said the association fully support the efforts of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) under its new leadership.
He said he has donated a land of 100 by 90 square metres to FRSC at Uromi to build their office.
He enjoined the association members to always obey the speed limit regulation in order to avoid accident on the roads.
