Armed Forces Week Begins, Today

The 2015 edition of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, and Emblem Appeal fund launching in Rivers State has been slated to hold today at the Obi Wali Convention Centre, along Chief Godpower Ake Road in Port Harcourt in the morning.
According to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Sovens Okari, and made available to The Tide, the Rivers State Governor , Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi will be the Special Guest at the event.
The Permanent Secretary, who signed for the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, also indicated that other programmes of activities for the celebration include, Special Juma’at Service at 2nd Brigade Central Mosque, Bori Camp on Friday afternoon while an inter-denominational church service, will hold on Sunday at Corpus Christic Cathedral, Kaduna Street, Port Harcourt, in the morning.
According the statement, the grand finale of the programme will be the laying of wreath at the Isaac Boro Park Cenotaph, Port Harcourt on January 15, and urged all and sundry to participate.
