2015: Umeh Solicits Support For President Jonathan
National Chairman
of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, on Thursday in Awka urged Nigerians to massively vote for President Goodluck Jonathan in next month’s presidential election.
Umeh, who is also APGA’s candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the Feb. 14 National Assembly election, particularly appealed to the Igbos to vote for Jonathan.
According to Umeh,“ the President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency has better promises and opportunities for Ndigbo.’’
Umeh promised to be in the forefront in the quest to address the structural imbalance in the country if elected into the senate.
“Unless addressed, Igbos will continue to be beggarly in the Nigeria project,” he said.
Umeh expressed optimism that he would win the election, adding that he was not a candidate to be written-off.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that one of Umeh’s opponent is incumbent Sen. Chris Ngige of All Progressive Congress.
“I am not somebody people can just write-off in any election. If you remember, I have played pivotal roles in APGA victories. I am in touch with the grassroots and they appreciate good works.
“I am overwhelmed by the tremendous goodwill I receive in this campaign. In some places you least expect, people will receive you, people swarm you like bees. Some produce jungles, bill-boards free.
