Xmas: Police Ban Fireworks

ers State Police Command has warned members of the public especially those who intend to shoot fire works otherwise called knockout during the yeltude period in the state to stop forthwith or face possible prosecution.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad while speaking to journalists in his office recently said the ban on the fire works in the state remains adding that all the police formations across the state has been directed to deal with and arrest anybody found flounting the directive.
The state police image maker further warned companies and corporate bodies operating in the state whose work are associated with fire works to adhere to directive especially during this xmas and new year period.
He used the opportunity to call on parents, guardians, churches and community leaders to call on their loved ones to desist from shooting any fire works noting that the police would not condole any form of compromise in the directive.
He, however, commended Rivers people for complying with the directive and enjoined to keep fate with the police in the state.
The police spokesperson urged residents of the state to be vigilant in the environment and report any suspected movement to the police for immediate and prompt action.
