Senegal goalkeeper
Bouna Coundoul says the Lions of Teranga do not fear anyone at the Africa Nations Cup finals in Equatorial Guinea next year.
Senegal are in the Group of Death along with Ghana, Algeria and South Africa.
“We do not fear anyone. It is going to be difficult for everybody,” Coundoul said.
“We need to go to the AFCON with only the football in our minds. We need to also be on top as far as the logistic is concerned.”
The four giants of African football are in Group C and will be based in Mongomo for the group phase of the event.
Meanwhile Augustin Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation, says they were expecting a tough group.
“Being in pot 4, we were expecting a tough group and it is what happened. It is also the most balanced group given the latest FIFA rankings.”
“But we are here to continue to improve. We knew that we would end up with at least two great teams and we were left with three great teams.
“But to be drawn in a difficult group will not lower our ambitions. We have what it takes to go through, because while it is going to be difficult for us, it is going to be difficult for the three other teams.”
