PCC Commissioner Warns Workers Against Corrupt Practices
The Commissioner, Public
Complaints Commission (PCC) Mr Ambrose Ugboaja, in Imo, has warned staff of the commission against engaging in any form of corrupt practices.
Ugboaja gave the warning in Owerri, during the 2014 end of the year and send-forth party organised by the commission.
He said workers should not see PCC as a place to make money, adding that PCC was established to promote good governance and ensure that people get justice.
“If you think you can take undue advantage of anyone who comes to complain, the gate is wide open for you to resign now and go.
“Here we deal with the poor and the downtrodden,’’ he stressed.
The PCC commissioner said that the watch word of the commission is integrity, justice and fair play.
Earlier in a sermon delivered at the occasion, the Priest of St. Peters Church, Owerri, Canon Festus Ekeocha, called on Nigerians to uphold social justice to avert the wrath of God.
Ekeocha who spoke on the theme, “Administering Social Justice,’’ said Nigerians were passing through hard times, and urged the leaders to come up with policies that would improve the welfare of the people.
“Gross abuse of fundamental rights of the people, youth unemployment, insecurity among others are the problems in the land, we must make amend to run away from God’s punishment,’’ he said.
