Nigeria’s World Cup Cash Still With FIFA?

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) general secretary Musa Amadu has said it is not true the country would this week receive their prize money from the recent World Cup of about nine million dollars.
Amadu said, “Our money is still with FIFA and it’s safe.
“Listen, FIFA is like a bank for all its 209 associations. Every country has its own account and our money is in our account.”
The NFF are expected to refund to government the sum of $3.8 million, which was advanced to them to pay the players’ appearance fee to the World Cup in Brazil.
It is understood that FIFA are not in a hurry to release the cash until the leadership crisis that has rocked Nigerian football for the past five months has abated.
Observers said FIFA are this week most likely to intervene in the latest impasse involving the electoral appeals committee.
The chairman of the committee has nullified four of the elections including that of the NFF presidency, while his members have upheld the September 30 polls in their entirety.
