Nigeria Premier League Season Begins, March 7

The 2014/2015 sea
son of the Nigeria Premier league would kick off on March 7, 2015, according to top officials.
League Management Company (LMC) chairman Nduka Irabor dropped the hint in Lagos this week.
Irabor also revealed that the LMC would soon introduce more initiatives to make the NPFL exciting and lucrative.
One of such initiative is a reward for fans turn out for league matches.
According to Irabor, “We are introducing next season a reward or benefit award like we have done with points accumulated”.
“Next year we are going to introduce ability to bring fans into the stadium, as a condition for distributing money.
“And we are going to give points according to the fans you bring with 3000 being the bench mark.”
He explained that “anything under 3000 you don’t get any point. But as you get 3000 you get a point and as you progress the point increases.”
“At the end of the season we tally the points and reward the clubs”
Kano Pillars got 15million Naira for finishing top on the premier league, while Nembe City got 1.5m Naira for finishing bottom of the league.
