NAOC Reaffirms Commitment To Community Dev

The Nigerian Agip Oil
Company (NAOC) has re-affirmed its commitment towards the development of host communities in the states across the company’s operational areas.
The firm’s General Manager District, Paolo Carnevale, stated this during the respective commissioning of water scheme project in Etekwuru Community, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State and Town Hall project in Aggah Community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday.
The GMD who was represented by the Assistant manager, Government Liaison, Mrs Grace Okpoyo, said the provision of rural infrastructure to the host communities remains paramount in the policy thrust of the company’s rural development plan.
The General Manager, said the project will alleviate the difficulties in water supply and boost the wellbeing of the people of Etekwuru.
He also said that Aggah Community town hall will enhance the socio-economic development of the area, as well as improve the communal integration of the people.
He commended the respective communities for their peaceful disposition and assured that NAOC will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility to its host communities.
In their respective responses, the Etekwuru CDC Chairman, Chief Romamus Onyia while thanking Agip submitted that employment opportunities should be given to the youths  especially in the on-going Agip trainee engineers and wellhead operators, review of the Memorandum of Understanding by NAOC and the community and reconnection of power supply line to Etekwuru II.
The paramount ruler of Aggah Community Eze Ignatius Ekezie, expressed his gratitude over the completion and commissioning of the Town Hall project, saying that it will enhance social relationship among his subjects.
He however, demanded for more developmental projects, as he also frowned at late implementation of M.O.U by NAOC, pledging that the community would continue to create peaceful business environment for oil exploration to thrive.
