Chief Of Staff Presents Xmas Gifts To Women, Youths
Over 1,000 women and
youths from the various Wards of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have been presented with gifts items including foods, salt, wrappers and cash by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Chief Tony Okocha to mark his birthday.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the Rumuigbo ultra-modern town hall, Okocha said the women and youths were drawn from various wards in the area to benefit from the gesture irrespective of political parties atiliation.
Okocha said that the gesture, which is to mark his birthday and official commissioning of Rumuigbo town hall was to identify with the needy including widows and youths, at this period of Christmas.
Okocha advised the youths of Obio/Akpor not to allow themselves to be used as thugs in the forthcoming elections in the state, saying the future of the country and the state in particular belong to the youths.
He charged the people of the area to vote for credible candidates that will give them quality leadership, and not those that would make them sleep with their eyes opens noting that with the APC governorship candidate, Hon. Peterside, the people of Obio/Akpor have no option than to vote for the APC in the 2015 election.
Chief Okocha thanked the APC governorship candidate, Hon. Dakuku Peterside for honouring the invitation of Rumuigbo people to commission the Ultra-modern town hall built by the leaders and people of Rumuigbo, adding that the vision to build the complex was made real through the support of APC government under the leadership of Governor Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers State.
Commissioning the town hall Complex, the APC candidate, Rivers State Hon. Dakuku Peterside lauded the people of the area for founding him worthy to commission the project and promised to improve developments in the area, if he is voted as Governor of the State in 2015.
