Sports Philanthropist Tasks Youths On Soccer
Nigerian youths have
been urged to improve their love for soccer in a bid to raise greater number of professional footballers that would transform the country into a football nation.
The Coordinator of Elehia 2014 Soccer Competition, Hon M. Ogolo made the call during the opening match between Waymark Football Club and Astman Football Club held at Ikiri Town in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area on Friday.
He said that football has become one of the professions that could transform the nation pointing out that good talents are hidden in the rural areas.
Hon. Ogolo who donated a cup for the tournament stated that the gesture was underscored by his vision to raise talents at the grassroot levels.
However, the opening match between Waymark FC and Astman FC ended goalless.
Meanwhile, the match between Astman FC and Indomitable FC comes up Wednesday November 19, 2014.
The Tidesports gathered that the final match would be held on Monday December 8, 2014 with the awards of trophy and various prizes for the winners including the female team.
Fielding questions from newsmen, Hon Ogolo said that the tournament would be an annual event.
