RSCHST Elects New Congregation Rep
The Rivers State College of
Health Sciences and Technology (RSCHST), has elected a new congregation representative for academic and non-academic staff of the institution.
The new congregation representative, Chief Festus Diibia, in his acceptance speech, thanked the staff of the institution for his election and expressed appreciation for finding him worthy.
Chief Diibia assured staff on the improvement of their welfare, adding that he would do everything within his powers to ensure that all issues concerning the regularization of of part-time lecturers and casual staff was resolved.
He also promised to carry everyone along in the scheme of things as their representative, saying that he would operate an open- door policy.
Chief Diibia is presently a director in the School of Biochemical Engineering Technology of the College, Chairman, Concerned Authors Forum, co-founder and Pioneer Chairman, Academic Staff Union of the College and a former President, Students Union of the College.
In his address, Provost of the College, Dr Charles Amadi, congratulated Chief Diibia for his victory and commented that the election was the first of its kind in the history of the institution and noted that it was the beginning of new things to come in the college.
Dr Amadi enjoined all staff to rally round the new congregation representative to ensure a successful tenure while charging Chief Diibia on transparency and equity.
