Rivers Angels Savours FA Cup Victory
Rivers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt has attributed the Club’s victory in the just-concluded 2014 Women Federation Cup competition to good management and quality recruitment by the technical crew of the team.
Assistant Coach of the Club, Whyte Ogbondah stated this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt yesterday.
He further explained that the success of the team in lifting this year’s edition of the Federation Cup is traceable to seasoned players who were dedicated to making the State proud in the competition.
Besides, he said the ability of the management of the Club to attend to the welfare of the players and technical crew led to the excellent performance of the team.
Consequently, he promised that the team would win the trophy for keeps in 2015 adding that what the team needs is continued support from the government and people of the State.
He also described the old players as cool headed and disciplined, saying that, they are easy to deal with and are very determined to excel in their chosen career.
He used the opportunity to advise the younger players of the team to follow the foot steps of the old team-mates as to achieve their personal and team goal in future.
Coach Ogbondah, however expressed satisfaction over the team’s victory, adding that, it was a well-deserved achievement having worked hard for the success with great determination and team spirit.
It would be recalled that the team has won the FA Cup competition title for the fifth time.
