Pillars Target CAF Champions Title
Kano Pillars have said
their next target is to win the CAF Champions League after they won the Nigeria league for a third straight season.
Kano State commissioner for information, youth, sports and culture, Danburan Abubakar Nuhu, said the government will ensure Pillars prepare well for next year’s Champions League because they plan to win it.
Danburan said Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has promised to ensured Pillars conquer the continent after three failed attempts.
Pillars best showing in the Champions League was achieved in 2009, when they lost in the semi-finals to fellow Nigerian club Heartland.
Meanwhile, Pillars coach Okey Emordi also commended the state government and the fans for their total support throughout the just concluded season, saying such support can only improve the local league.
