NPA Commissioner Of Police Warns Against Corruption
The Commissioner
of Police, Port Authority Police Command, Hilda Ibifuro Harrison, has enjoined members of the Nigeria Police to have zero tolerance for corruption and not extort money from any truck drivers at the ports.
Harrison made this known when she paid a courtesy visit to Customs Area comptroller for Lilypond Ijora Command, Comptroller Isa T. Mario yesterday in Lagos.
According to Harrison “anybody who has issues of corruption with policemen at the ports, should please come forward and report such cases at the appropriate quarters and erring policemen will be disciplined and others will be deterred from committing such crimes.
She disclosed that as a way of achieving this, there would be continuous training and seminars for policemen that would reactivate the attitudinal change in them so that they could carry out their duty posts, as well as be alive to their responsibilities, work within the confines and ambit of the law. The commissioner also charged them to synergise with other security agencies at the ports in the discharge of their duties.
