A Non-Governmental

The President of the foundation, Dr Dokun Ayodeji, made the disclosure in an interview with  newsmen  in Lagos, recently.
He said that the conference would promote proper information management.
Ayodeji said the conference would promote information, record and archive industry in Nigeria and Africa.
He said the importance of information management could not be over-emphasised, adding that records and information were essential for effective functioning of private and public organisations.
According to him, without proper record management infrastructure, governments and organisations would be incapable of managing their operations effectively.
The records and information management industry in Nigeria and Africa has recorded tremendous growth in the last one decade.
“A good number of organisations are already conscious of the need for proper information management,” Ayodeji said.
RIMA Foundation, in the last one decade, has developed the platform for development of Information Management and Security (IMS) industry in Africa.
It is involved in different collaborative activities with different local and international organisations on information management and security awareness campaign.
Ayodeji said the conference was to ensure that the industry in Africa was able to meet up with global standard and also expected to engender both investments and employment opportunities,’’ he said.
He urged states and the federal government to fund the growth of the information management industry.
