NDDC Director Tasks Politicians On Peace

As political parties in the
country commence their party primaries, the Executive Director finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Henry Ogiri has warned against violence in the next general elections.
Ogiri, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, also urged politicians to embrace peace and work towards developing their areas.
The NDDC director who gave the advice recently during the Opening ceremony of Dr. Henry Ogiri Peace and Unity Cup Competition, said all should ensure that peace was maintained in the area to attract development.
He warned against violence in the forthcoming election adding that losers and winners at the pools should embrace each other.
He appealed to the people of Abua/OduaL local government area to shun hatred and love one another, adding that those who involve in violence are against humanity.
‘’Those who preach message of hatred does not like humanity. If you like humanity, you should not kill. You should shun violence and embrace peace and leave peacefully with our neighbors’’, he advised
According to him,’’as brothers, we should exchange hand shake instead of gun shots. I want to appeal and pray that the good Lord should ensure peace in the local government’’.
He enjoined all to be supportive of peace and development in the area, and explained  he initiated the sports competition to engage the youths as well as empower and encourage them.
