Gombe Joins NPFL Relegated Clubs

Gombe United has joined
Nembe City, Crown and Kaduna United to be relegated from the Nigeria Premier League on Sunday despite thrashing Abia Warriors 4-1.
They thus finished on 50 points to complete the teams to feature in the lower Nigeria National League (NNL) next season – Nembe, Crown and Kaduna United.
Other teams in the relegation dog fight won their games to stay afloat.
Bayelsa, who had threatened to boycott their last game of the season over unpaid monies, beat Heartland 2-1 in Owerri after going a goal down to end on 51 points and 15th place.
FC Taraba also won at Sharks 1-0 to finish in 14th position and 53 points.
The relegated clubs are now to be replaced by Ranchers Bees, Wikki Tourists, Shooting Stars and Gabros International come the new season.
