Emordi’s Job Is Safe – Pillars
Coach Okey Emordi
would not be axed after he guided Kano Pillars to a third straight Nigeria league title, top officials have disclosed.
This is contrary to a report in a section of the media that the experienced coach will be fired as Pillars aim to win next year’s CAF Champions League.
“Emordi’s job is safe. He led us to win the league and so why should he be sacked?” asked Pillars Vice-Chairman and Kano sports commissioner, Danburram Nuhu Abubakar.
“The story about sacking Emordi is baseless and not true,” added Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa.
“We are very comfortable with the coach and the way and manner he has conducted himself.
“At this point in time, we need the support of everyone in our quest to be African champions, rather than some people sitting down somewhere and fabricating stories from their own imagination.”
