Dolphins Club of Port
Harcourt leading goal scorer, Emem Eduok missed last Wednesday’s screening exercise for the National Under 23 team in Abuja due to injury problem.
The Tidesports gathered that he was among the players invited in the batch B group to test their qualities for next year’s All Africa Games and Olympic games team.
This was contained in a statement signed by the media officer of the club, China Acheru which was made available to Tidesports yesterday.
The statement said that the player failed to attend the invitation following a knock he received from Enyimba defender, in the sound half of the Federation Cup Final played last Sunday.
According to the statement Eduok was able to complete the game, but left the pitch after the game limping.
“I will show myself to the coaches in Abuja as a sign of good faith to my country and also show that I want to be part of the team. I would have loved to be part of the training but I do not want to aggravate
The injury which does not seem very serious right now”, Eduok was quoted as saying.
He hoped that coach Samson Siasea and the coaching crew will call him again some other time.
It would be recalled that Eduok scored 25 goal this season, 20 in the League and four in the Federation Cup with Dolphins and for the national team, against Ghana in a friendly encounter.
