The World Kickboxing
Association (WKA) has concluded arrangements to organise a kickboxing championship tagged “Pain and Glory 2014” next month in Port Harcourt.
The representative of the association in Nigeria, Sensei Victor Bassey, disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
He said that the championship is aimed at preparing kickboxers for the forthcoming All African Games and other local and international competitions describing early preparation as the bedrock to success.
The competition would also be used to further prepare and fortify the earlier trainings for the postponed 19th National Sports Festival tagged “Centenary Games 2014″ which was scheduled to hold in Calabar, Cross River State.
Sensei Bassey said that the Championship which is expected to hold at the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt is open to all kickboxers in and outside the state.
He, however, advised athletes to be committed to their trainings and be focused as they get set for the task ahead of them.
