Amaechi Meets NBA In Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Gov
ernor Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has met with the Chairmen of the five branches of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in the state in an effort to resolve the ongoing judiciary crisis.
Although, a copy of the invitation was sent to all  members of the Bar to furnish them with the efforts aimed at resolving the judiciary crisis, the chairmen were the  only people to attend the meeting.
The Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Worgu Boms who sent the invitation letters to the lawyers described the meeting as continuing assurances of high esteem from His Excellency.
Recently, Barr. Boms convened a meeting with the young lawyers forum and informed them of his efforts so far at resolving the crisis.
It will be recalled that the Rivers State branch of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria embarked on industrial action sequel to the crisis over the appointment of the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
The ongoing strike has put lawyers out of job and worsened the fate of accused persons inprison custody, yet no truce has been achieved after four months.
