15 Die In Enugu Auto Crash

No fewer than 15 per
sons were yesterday confirmed dead when a heavy duty truck laden with 600 bags of cement suffered break failure, lost control and rammed into a market in Oji-River, Enugu State.
The incident occurred along the old Onitsha Express Way by Rio filling station at about 10.15 am.
An eyewitness told newsmen  that the market was in full swing when the incident occurred.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP EbereAmaraizu, confirmed the incident in a press release:
“Over 15 corpses have been evacuated from the accident.
“The bodies were deposited at a nearby mortuary for identification. The driver of the truck and its conductor have been arrested.”
Relatives of some of the deceased were at the mortuary to try and identify some bodies as at the time of going to press.
