10,000 Seek Admission Into Nne Furo Kurubo Model School

No fever than 10,000 indi
genes and non-indigenes of Rivers State have applied for admission into the prestigious Ambassador Nne Furo Kurubo Model Secondary School, Ebubu, Eleme for the 2014/2015 academic session.
The school was established by the Rivers State Government under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to deliver world class secondary education free of charge to both Rivers and non-Rivers indigenes. Briefing newsmen at the weekend at the school premises, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Educomp Solution Limited, Mr. Shuntaram Aegdekatte said that a breakdown of the number shows that over 6000 applicants are Rivers indigenes while 3,200 and 123 are non-indigenes resident in Rivers State and outsider respectively.
He however, said that only 700 would be admitted.
According to him, the entrance examination which comes up on the 29th of this month at 16 centres across the state will be strictly supervised to ensure that the best candidates emerge for admission.
Mr. Aegdekatte also said that the management had written to the Rivers State Police Command to provide security at the various centres during the exercise, while screening against all forms of contagious diseases, especially ebola would be carried out.
He said that, the management will only admit those who fall into the age brackets of 10-14 years into Junior secondary school (JSS) 1, 11-15 into Junior secondary school II 13-17 into senior secondary school (SSS) I, while those at age bracket of 14-18 will be admitted into senior secondary II.
Mr Aegdekatte who warned impostors and other unscrupulous elements to keep off the various examination centres, also said that all parents must cooperate with the authorities to ensure a hitch free exercise.
He further said that the school would continue to deploy the necessary technology to ensure quality education.
