Youth Vow To Pursue Ogoni Guber Bid
Ahead of the 2015
polls in Rivers State, youths of Ogoniland, under the aegis of Ogoni Youth Movement (OYM), has vowed to pursue ideals that would expand the frontiers of the quest by the Ogonis to clinch the governship slot in the state.
The youths made the pledge in Port Harcourt when the OYM executive led by its President-General, Comrade Sunny Bekanwah, called on prominent Ogoni leader and business mogul, father Lawrence Bagbe in his office.
Recalling the contributions of the Ogonis to the socio-political and economic development of Rivers State since 1967, when the state was created, Bekanwah said Bagabe’s commitment to youth empowerment and his efforts to impact positively on the lives of Ogoni youths, places him on a better stead among many other Ogonis seeking elective positions in the state in 2015.
The OYM chief who hinted that Bagbe’s unwavering support for the Jonathan / Wike 2015 project actually gave impetus for the visit, urged him to contest for any political office of his choice.
Responding, Father Bagbe thanked the OYM for recognizing his magnanimity and kind gesture to Ogoni youths, expressing his altruistic concern for the progress and development of Ogoniland.
On his political ambition for 2015, he hinted that he was still consulting with shareholders and associates and would open up in due course.
