Rivers Cricketers Ready For Zonal Play-Off

The Nigeria Cricket Fed
eration (NCF) has said that arrangements have been concluded to two days hold zonal play-off of the forthcoming 2014 National Women Cricket Championship in November, this year.
The state coach, Tonye Timinadi disclosed this Tuesday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
He explained that the play-off has been divided into the six geo-political zones in the country except the North-East 20K due to activities of Boko Haram.
The Tidesport gathered that Rivers, Delta, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo and Akwa-Ibom State are excepted to compete in the play-off to qualify for the semi-final stage of the tournament.
It was gathered that any state that qualifies would represent the zone at the semi-final of the championship which is scheduled to hold from 21-23 of next month in Abuja.
In the same vein the male version of competition is expected to commence after the females tournament.
Coach Timinadi assured that Rivers players are in high spirit as they have started intensive training in readiness for the task ahead.
