The Rivers State Cricket
Association has commenced training for the forthcoming National Senior League scheduled to kick-off next month.
The State Cricket Coach, Tonye Timinadi who disclosed this at the weekend in an interview with Tidesports, said that the resumption of training had dragged on for so long because of the rainy season, which does not augur well with sports.
According to him, the team is now set to prepare for the task ahead by being physically fit, improving on their weak areas in order to compete effectively in the league competiton.
Coach Timinadi said that the athletes were committed to their training and determined to do their best in order to excel at the forthcoming 2014 League competition.
“Though, the league is by the corner, he would work hard to ensure that we prepare adequately before the league kicks off to enable us succeed, he said”.
It would be recalled that the league was extended to November, instead of this October as earlier fixd by the organisers.
The Coach has however, said that the shift date would further help them (the team) to prepare for the task ahead even as the kick off is yet to be fixed.
