Rivers Cricket Team Resumes Preparation For League

The Rivers State Cricket
Federation (NCF), would resume training this weekend in preparation of the forthcoming National Senior Cricket League Scheduled to hold in November, this year.
The State Cricket Coach, Tonye Timinadi, stated in a chat with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.
According to him, training session would commence tomorrow at the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT Cricket ground.
Coach Timinadi, said that the resumption of the training would enable the State Senior team to prepare ahead of the forthcoming 2014 Cricket League.
Meanwhile, the National Cricket League earlier scheduled to begin this month has been shifted to next month by the Cricket Federation.
“The Federation recently held a meeting one of the communiqué in that meet was to shift the league to next month, though, a date is yet to be fixed but, the competition would kick-off in November, 2014”, the Coach said.
He further, said that the shift in the commencement of the league would give the team more time to prepare, saying that because, of the rainy season the team could not train and prepare adequately for the competition.
He maintained that, intensive preparation would begin right away as to enable the team prepare well for the task ahead.
